I’m Vicki Igbokwe-Ozoagu, Director of Empowerment at people make it work. You may also know me as the Founder of Uchenna an international touring dance company that empowers, entertains, and educates through dance or as the Self-First Instigator supporting artistic and creative women to kickstart the habit of putting themselves first.
Being a lonely leader is something I’ve experienced first-hand, and, at times, still do.
It doesn’t truly go away, right? Some days are full and connected, while others can be dark and overwhelming. When I look back at my journey, the brighter times were when I found spaces to connect with like-minded individuals on their own paths. Spaces where I could share ideas, speak out loud and get meaningful feedback, vent a little, laugh, cry, and celebrate without fear of judgment.
Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked with incredible coaches and have been supported by two long-term mentors who still guide me today. I’ve been lucky enough to be part of communities that enabled me to build a strong network of meaningful connections, places where I wasn’t just a leader, but a person navigating challenges, growth, and change.
As a coach, mentor, and facilitator, I’ve supported artistic leaders, creative entrepreneurs, early-career artists, and those in training to figure out what they truly want. I’ve helped them prioritise themselves, put their visions first, and build sustainable habits that support both their well-being and work.
I understand what it’s like to feel stretched too thin, questioning every decision, and yearning for spaces where you can simply be. Spaces where your superpower, being yourself, is truly celebrated.That’s why I created Lonely Leaders, a space that brings together everything I’ve wished for at different points in my journey. A space where you can find connection, clarity, confidence, courage, and the kind of support that reminds you that you’re not alone.

Who is this for?
This isn’t about professional development (although naturally you’ll feel this within the membership). This is about you being supported. It’s about building a space where you are seen, heard, held, valued, and energised. A community that supports you in every sense. This membership is for independent artists, creatives, and small company leaders who:
Feel the isolation that comes with leadership, vision, and running their own business, creative practice, or career.
Are looking for connection, affirmation, and a supportive network to thrive personally and professionally.
Are project-funded, non-funded, or not supported as a National Portfolio Organisation (NPO).

A mix of online and in-person offerings designed to create meaningful connection:

- Monthly Group Coaching Sessions (Online): Explore shared challenges and find clarity in a supportive group.
- Weekly Treat and Chat Sessions (Online): A light-hearted space for connection over casual conversation.
- Spotlight Sessions (Online): Members share their expertise, experience, and skills that support the membership as a whole.
- Guest Speaker Sessions (Online): Curated conversations that fill your cup with invited experts sharing practical tips, insights, strategies, inspiration, and their personal stories.
- In-person Socials (Twice Yearly): Relax, connect, recharge, and enjoy a change of scene with fellow members. Locations TBC, depending on the spread of membership.
- Opportunities for 1:1 Coaching: Time for personalised support tailored to meet your individual needs
- Online Community: Stay connected share experiences and support each other between our scheduled sessions.
What’s the investment?
The membership launches in March 2025 and runs for an initial 12-month period. This membership is a powerful investment in your leadership, well-being, and future.
For Organisations Supporting Individuals:
Supporting independent leaders through sponsorship is a meaningful way to invest in the creative ecosystem. By sponsoring a membership, you directly contribute to the resilience and success of independent artists and leaders, empowering them to sustainably bring their vision to life. The payment options for organisations are:
£250 per month (12 payments, £3,000 total)
£2,250 if paid in full (save 25%) plus, the peace of mind of having the sponsored leader’s membership covered for the year
For Individuals Supporting Themselves
This option is for those investing in their own growth and well-being. We understand the challenges of independent leadership and have designed this pricing to be flexible while reflecting the immense value of being part of a supportive community. The payment options for individuals are:
£150 per month (12 payments, £1,800 total)
£1,350 if paid in full (save 25%) plus, the peace of mind of having your membership covered for the year

We recognise that every situation is unique. If quarterly payments (£750 for organisations, £450 for individuals) suit your needs better, please reach out to discuss this option.
