UNDERSTANDING BUSINESS MODELS
In this session you will hear from Anna Dinnen and learn all about different types of business models and what they might consist of. You will discuss what makes companies distinct in their offers, the characteristics of different company offers, customer characteristics and more.
You will be unpacking the models of different businesses such as:
- Suited and Booted – a London based charity who provide smart clothes for interview to men referred to them by public agencies
- Warts and All Theatre – an arts organisation based in Northampton which provides theatre performance and production opportunities to young people. Please look particularly at the YOUNG ACTORS programme (any location) and what they say about the ‘pay-on-your-terms’ model.
- Zoom – the video-conferencing platform
Anna Dinnen
Anna’s work covers strategic and business planning, change management and board facilitation. Recent clients include Leicester Haymarket Theatre, Taliesin Arts Centre, Warts and all Theatre, Peckham Platform, Delapre Abbey (heritage site) and Oxford University. About a third of her work is for funders including Arts Council England, Arts Council Wales, National Heritage Lottery Fund and Nesta, covering assessment and diagnostics as well as programme research, design and evaluation. Current or recent pieces of work in this sphere concern place-based philanthropy, merger and collaboration, accelerated innovation and capital investment.
She was formerly Senior Programme Manager in the Digital Arts and Media team at Nesta, delivering the first Digital Arts and Culture Accelerator. She also worked for 12 years in Arts Council England’s Organisational Development team and for two years was the Programme Manager for Arts Council England’s own internal change programmes.
